Campari raises €4m through Punch Barbieri sale

Gruppo Campari has disposed of its Punch Barbieri brand to Distillerie Moccia for €4.45million, enabling it to focus on its priority products.

Punch Barbieri Campari Distillerie Moccia

The Punch Barbieri brand features three classic fruit flavours – Mandarin, Orange and Rum – and is the largest punch brand in its core market of Italy.

The acquisition enables Distillerie Moccia to continue expanding its business with leading local brands, which also include Zabov egg liqueur.

The deal is expected to complete by 1 March 2013.

Campari first acquired the Punch Barbieri brand in 2003 with the purchase of Barbero 1981, which included the Aperol and Aperol Soda brands.

The deal is the first made since Campari paid US$414.8m for a controlling stake in Appleton Estate owner Lascelles deMercado.
