Wemyss Malts new single cask bottlings sell out in weeks
Wemyss Malts has revealed four new single cask bottlings, three of which have sold out within weeks of being on sale.
Wemyss Malts’ latest single cask bottlings have practically sold out already
The four new single malt whiskies, each designed to celebrate a different Scotch region, were shipped to selected retailers in the UK, EU and Asia a couple of weeks ago. However three editions have already sold out.
The releases no longer available are Billowing Embers, a 15-year-old from Bunnahabhain distillery in Islay, of which 331 bottles were produced; Mellow Mariner, a 20-year-old from Ardmore distillery in Speyside, of which there were 213 bottles; and Fruit Bonbons, a 23-year-old from Glen Garioch distillery in the Highlands of which 325 bottles were made.
The one remaining edition, which is still available to buy, is Summer Orchard, a 12-year-old from Linkwood distillery in Speyside, of which 762 bottles were produced from a single Sherry butt.
William Wemyss, founder and managing director at Wemyss Malts, said: “We continue to have a great response from the whisky community to our single cask bottlings and this latest release of four single casks has some classic distillery profiles as well as a few interesting surprises in store.”
Wemyss Malts plans to release its next single cask bottlings in April.
The company also revealed this month that it is to build a new distillery in Fife, which will begin to produce liquid by the summer 2014.
