Chivas Regal partners with Pininfarina for limited editions

Chivas Brothers is launching a series of limited edition Chivas Regal 18 in association with Italian design company Pininfarina.

The Chivas 18 by Pininfarina series is inspired by the aerodynanamism of a water droplet

The Chivas 18 by Pininfarina series will feature two uniquely designed gift boxes with iconic design cues from the Italian company.

The first design, which retails for £90, has a rich metallic blue case shaped like a droplet – inspired by Pininfarina’s renowned metal work – and a wood veneer representing the oak casks used to age Chivas 18.

The second, which retails for £360, features a more aerodynamic shape and includes two droplet-designed glasses.

The limited editions will be available globally, including in the US, the UK, Russia, China and travel retail from January 2013.

James Slack, brand director for Chivas Regal, said: “The Chivas 18 by Pininfarina Limited Editions are distinctive designs that will speak to our customers – modern gentlemen who seek style and substance in the brands they connect with.

“Pininfarina is an excellent fit with Chivas 18 and we are confident that these exclusive limited editions will continue our line of successes with previous Chivas 18 partnerships.”

To commemorate the partnership, Chivas Brothers has commissioned five sculptures, the Chivas 18 Macherone by Pininfarina. An oak wooden structure inspired by the original wooden frame used to refine new autombolie shapes, and clad in aluminium, the sculptures will be put on display globally and are available to order on request.
