The Scotch Whisky: From Grain to Glass exhibition opens on 29 November, offering visitors a complete history of Scotland’s national drink and insight into how it’s made.
A collection of images and artefacts gathered from Scotch producers and enthusiasts, many of which have never been displayed before, will be on show for the first time in the Scottish Parliament’s Main Hall.
Gavin Hewitt, chief executive of the SWA, said: “For the last 100 years we have been committed to promoting and protecting Scotch Whisky. We hope as many people as possible will visit the Scotch Whisky: From Grain to Glass exhibition to find out more about the heritage of Scotland’s national drink. Everyone, from Scotch Whisky aficionados to novices will learn something new from the exhibition.”
Scottish Parliament deputy presiding officer, John Scott MSP, said:
“From the science of distillation to the traditional art of cooperage and the whisky-inspired film screenings and poetry of Liz Lochhead, we look forward to hosting an informative, lively and entertaining exhibition here at Holyrood.”
The free-to-enter exhibition will run until 25 January 2013.
