Jura Whisky launches UK treasure hunt

Jura Scotch whisky has launched a penny treasure hunt in four cities across the UK.

Jura is giving away 40 bottles of Superstition whisky in a nationwide penny hunt

The treasure hunt will see forty bottles of Jura Superstition given away to forty lucky finders.

Over the next four weeks Jura Whisky will be hiding ten pennies in one city, starting in Edinburgh this week. The treasure will then move on to London from 12 November, Manchester on 19 November before finishing in Glasgow for the week beginning 26 November.

Jura distillery manager Willie Cochrane said: “The Isle of Jura, and its tight-knit community of less than 200 Diurachs, are well known for their superstitions and tales of good fortune. So what better way to celebrate this eccentricity than sharing some of this good fortune with our own whisky fans across the UK?

“With forty bottles of Superstition up for grabs across four cities, there’s a lot of luck to be had. In fact, for one of our honorary Diurachs, this Christmas promises to be very lucky indeed!”

Some of the pennies will be hidden around famous landmarks, while other will be in less obvious places. Treasure hunters will be given clues to the whereabouts of the pennies on Twitter, with the hashtag #jurapennies.

The competition has been launched to support the brand’s Win a Million Pennies campaign, in which it is giving away £10,000 to one winner answering a simple question at www.jurawhisky.com before 23 December.

For those who are unsuccessful in their treasure hunting Jura’s Superstition whisky, described as having, “spice, honey, pine, peat and a whisper of smoke – ideal flavours for the winter season”, is available for £36.99 RRP.
