UK receives first stock of South Africa’s Lovoka liqueur
By Becky PaskinLovoka, the second biggest selling liqueur in South Africa is now available outside the country for the first time, with simultaneous launches in the UK, the US and Australia.
Lovoka liqueur will be available in Harvey Nichols stores and Beach Blanket Babylon bars in the UK from October
The vodka-based liqueur (30% abv) is available in two flavours – Caramel and Chocolate – but is lactose and dairy-free.
Lovoka is currently the second highest selling liqueur in South Africa, behind Amarula, with around 180,000 cases sold per year.
While the brand is expecting to launch in the US and Australia within the next few weeks, it has already secured exclusive off-trade listings at Harvey Nichols department stores in the UK, but will receive a nationwide roll-out after Christmas. Lovoka is also actively seeking on-trade stockists in the country.
Richard Caldeira, director of Lovoka UK, said the brand’s eye-catching aluminium bottles that have been designed specifically for freezer storage, long shelf life and “good smell and taste profile” will make Lovoka stand out from the competition.
Lovoka Caramel and Chocolate will retail in the UK for around £27.95.
