Transformers agency aids Skyy vodka in TV debut
Skyy vodka, one of America’s leading vodka brands, has teamed up with the visuals company behind Hollywood blockbusters Transformers, Titanic and TRON: Legacy to produce its first ever TV advertising campaign.

The Passion for Perfection campaign, due to screen on US television stations including E! Network, Comedy Central and ESPN on 19 July, is the culmination of 20 years of print and digital advertising for the brand.
Gruppo Campari, owners of Skyy, enlisted the support of digital studio Digital Domain to create a 60-second commercial featuring glamourous factory workers in a fantasy Skyy distillery set on a snow-covered glacier.
“For our first time on television with our SKYY Vodka brand, our DNA demanded we do something amazing and eye-catching,” said Umberto Luchini, head of marketing at Campari America. “After seeing the Tupac Shakur hologram at Coachella, we knew we had teamed with the right production company to take our brand essence of sexy style, exceptional quality, and, of course, our iconic blue bottle to the small screen in over-the-top fashion.”
“The challenge for us on the Passion for Perfection campaign was how to condense SKYY’s 20 years of innovation, quality and style into a 60-second commercial,” said Sil Van Der Woerd, director at Digital Domain’s production arm Mothership.
“The aesthetic we wanted was both organic and sleek. We drew inspiration from some of our most memorable film work and modern architecture to create digital environments that captured the brand’s essence and took the piece somewhere beyond the imagination, yet firmly grounded in the attributes that have made SKYY one of the most recognizable brands in the world.”
The Skyy Passion for Perfection commercial will be supported by digital media, billboards and large-format advertising throughout 2012.
