Ivan Menezes joins Diageo board

Diageo has appointed Ivan Menezes as an executive director, just four months after he was promoted to the position of chief operating officer.

Menezes, who became COO on 1 March this year after a tenure as president of Diageo North America, joins the drinks company’s board today.

Franz Humer, chairman of Diageo, said: “Ivan Menezes has an outstanding track record in all his leadership roles in Diageo. Ivan’s appointment to our Board strengthens the executive leadership of our business and I look forward to working with him in this capacity.”

Previously, Menezes was also chairman of Diageo Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean. As COO he looks after Diageo’s global operating business with responsibility for Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean.
