The Macallan is set to launch its 1824 Series in the UK in September
The series will feature single malts aged completely in Spanish oak sherry casks, but will retain The Macallan’s signature colour, aroma and taste.
Details regarding the first release, which has been created by The Macallan’s whisky maker Bob Dalgarno, are yet to be announced, but the brand has said further expressions will be rolled out in 2013.
Ken Grier, director of malts, Edrington said: “The 1824 Series will introduce a new approach to The Macallan in the UK market for single malt drinkers to enjoy and underlines our ongoing commitment to leading innovation. The move represents a major step in the evolution of The Macallan and we are extremely excited to be introducing this into the UK market first.”
