By Becky PaskinGlenglassaugh, the Speyside distillery behind Revival single malt whisky, has appointed an inaugural European brand development manager.
Susan Colville joins Glenglassaugh distillery as its first European brand development managerSusan Colville, the first woman to be named Young Brand Ambassador in the 2012 Icons of Whisky Awards, joins Glenglassaugh after a number of brand development roles with independent bottlers, including Douglas Laing & Co and Dewar Rattray.
The role, which is a first for Glenglassaugh having only reopened after 22 years in 2008, is also Colville’s first at a distillery.
“Glenglassaugh has been doing incredible things over the last four years and is growing at an extremely fast pace,” she said. “The challenge for me is to maintain that growth and to establish Glenglassaugh not only as a really good brand, but also as a fantastic whisky.
“Within five years I would like to see Glenglassaugh grow to become a well-known, recognised brand which is synonymous with producing high quality, hand-crafted single malt whisky.”
Colville will report to Glenglassaugh managing director Stuart Nickerson, allowing him and the brand to build a presence in Asia, Australasia and the US.
Her appointment coincides with the launch of the distillery’s first single malt whisky, Revival.
