Bacardi releases quirky Wolf Berry and Black Razz rum flavours
By Becky PaskinBacardi has released two new flavoured rums for the US market – Wolf Berry and Black Razz – infusing two fruits never before used in a rum.
Bacardi Wolf Berry pairs blueberry with the exotic taste of wolf berry (also known as goji berry), while Bacardi Black Razz features raspberry and black sapote, a persimmon fruit with a rich, chocolate flavour.
Toby Whitmover, vice president and brand managing director for rum at Bacardi, said the use of quirky ingredients to make the two new flavour combinations was down to Bacardi’s aim to remain innovative.
“As the world’s most popular rum, Bacardi holds a leadership position when it comes to creating new innovative flavor combinations that blend the very popular, well known flavors with more exotic ones that are gaining momentum like wolfberry and black sapote, diversifying and adding color to the palettes of our consumers,” he said.
Both rums are designed to be chilled and drunk as shots, or mixed with lemon lime soda or in a mojito cocktail.
Bacardi is launching a multi-million dollar marketing campaign featuring advertising and on-trade sampling to support the release.
