Southern Comfort announces Bold Black Cherry flavour

Southern Comfort has released a new flavoured expression of its whiskey liqueur – Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry.

Following the launch of its Lime and Fiery Pepper flavours, Southern Comfort is continuing to take advantage of an upward trend for flavoured spirits in the US, designing its latest flavour to appeal to a broad age range.

The new flavour will be rolled out across the US, UK and Ireland from June.
Mark Bacon, managing director of Southern Comfort, said: “The launch of Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry continues the brand’s innovation with new flavors which began with Southern Comfort Lime in 2010 and continued with Southern Comfort Fiery Pepper last fall.
“We feel Bold Black Cherry will recruit new consumers into the Southern Comfort franchise who enjoy a distinctive flavor profile in their cocktails.”
The launch will be supported by a six-week summer advertising campaign including television commercials in the US.
Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry is available at 35% ABV for a suggested retail price of US$16.99.
