Memorial for Alan Lodge
Details for the memorial service for Alan Lodge have been given by his family.
The service will take place on Friday 9 March 2012 at Coney Hill Baptist Church, Coney Hill Road, West Wickham, Kent BR4 9BU at 2pm.
After this service all guests are invited to join the family for refreshments in the church hall. There will be a memorial book for guests to write their own thoughts and memories of Alan.
From 6pm onwards, there will be a further gathering for those guests who would wish to raise a glass to Alan at The Pickhurst pub, Pickhurst Lane, West Wickham, BR4 0HH, where an area has been reserved for the evening.
Please do not feel it necessary to wear black.
A crèche is available for small children if required.
It is the wish of the family that flowers should be from Alan’s immediate family only.
If you would like to make a donation to a registered charity in memory of Alan, the charity that the family have chosen is ‘The National Brain Appeal’, which provides funding for advances in neurology and neurosurgery. If you would prefer to make a donation by cheque please write ‘In memory of Alan Lodge 17.02.2012’ on the back of the cheque. Gift Aid declaration forms will be available in the church hall.
Charities like The National Brain Appeal will help go some way towards further brain research to enable diagnosis and prevention of catastrophic brain haemorrhages, so that others will not to have to endure the sadness that we all are suffering at the sudden death of Alan.
