Two new malts for 2012
By Dominic RoskrowLeading independent bottler Gordon and Macphail has added two new rare single malt whiskies to its Private Collection label.
The two malts have been personally selected by the Urquhart family, directors of the firm, for their outstanding character and quality. They have been released in brand new packaging. The first whisky is Caol Ila Hermitage Wood Finish 1997, which was finished in hermitage wood for 30 months. It is limited to just 800 bottles, has an ABV of 45% and retails at £45. The second is a linkwood Cote Rotie Wood Finish from 1991. It, too, was finished in a different wood for 30 months. It has an ABV of 45%, is limited to 1900 and retails for £61.
