Havana Club’s portable travel guide

Havana Club rum has launched a new iPhone map-based app: “Havana Club’s guide to Havana”.

Free from iTunes or app stores, the app offers a selection of “insiders’” bar, club and restaurant reviews and tips, as well as a list of cultural destinations there, all stored on an interactive map of the city.

The app has been reviewed by The Times’ former travel editor, Gareth Scurlock, to ensure a relevant and up-to-date review of the city and its attractions.

For the transient Havana visitor, there is the “48 hours in Havana” element of the app with highlights and “must-sees/dos” for those pressed for time.

Patrick Venning, head of marketing for Pernod Ricard UK, said: “As the authentic Cuban rum still produced in the capital Havana, we’re proud to be able to showcase some of Cuba’s must-see locations, particularly to new audiences here in the UK. We hope that our ‘Guide to Havana’ gives people the knowledge to really make the most of their trip and experience a taste of Cuba and all the passion and heritage it has to offer.”
