Beam through CEDC in Poland
By Marinel FitzSimonsCentral European Distribution Corporation (CEDC) has signed an exclusive agreement with Beam Inc. to distribute the portfolio of brands.
CEDC, as well as being one of the largest vodka producers globally, is also the leading spirits distributor in Poland. The agreement aims to strengthen the brands’ position in the Polish market, while further strengthening CEDC’s place there.
William Carey, president and CEO of CEDC, said: “We are pleased to continue our successful cooperation with Beam Inc. in Poland, which recognizes the value of CEDC’s strong sales platform in the overall brown and white spirits market in Poland. We look forward to working further with the premium, internationally recognized brands which fit in our well-balanced portfolio of vodka, brown and white spirits and wine products.
“We are looking forward to further development of Jim Beam’s consumer base in Poland and we see opportunities for this world’s number one bourbon to continue its expansion on the fast growing whisky market in Poland.”
According to Nielsen, at the end of last year the Polish whisky market had almost tripled in the space of five years, reaching 10 million litres in 2011, making it one of the top 25 whisky markets in the world.
The Beam Inc. portfolio includes brands such as Jim Beam, Sauza Tequila, Teacher’s and Maker’s Mark.
