Whisky tastings a plenty in March
By Dominic RoskrowIf you’re keen on learning more about whisky then this March the world is your oyster – with three world class events being held in three different world locations.
The most established is Whisky Live London which this year will take place at the Honourable Artillery Company, an 18th century mansion in the centre ofLondonon March 23 and 24.
The Friday evening event will include whisky tastings and access to a cocktails area, where cocktails made with rum, gin and vodka as well as whisky will be on offer. Food will be served throughout the event.
On the Saturday guests can sample some of the world’s leading whiskies as well as attend a series of masterclasses, including one by Berry Bros & Rudd’s Ronnie Cox, who is an expert on all things Glenrothes.
Three weeks earlier there is the opportunity to choose between two whisky events on opposite sides of the world.
In Las Vegason March 2 and March 3 is the second ‘nth Show’, organised by the Universal Whisky Experience. The show is a top end premium whisky show offering masterclasses from the likes of Whyte & Mackay’s Richard Paterson, who will be tasting samples from casks used in recreating the Shackleton Mackinlay bottling, and a Scottish Gold tasting feature top investment expert Andrew Simpson’s guide to some of the world’s most collectable whiskies.
A range of tickets are on offer, with the top priced High Roller ticket costing just under $2,000 and including the opportunity to sample six of the world’s rarest whiskies as well as a special dinner, early access, special experiences and a range of masterclasses.
Meanwhile on the same weekend in India Indspirit takes place at theMumbaiTradeCenter. The event will include speakers, tastings, and exhibition and a special networking gala dinner.
