Von Teased by Dita at COINTREAUPRIVÉ
By Marinel FitzSimonsThe CointreauPrivé pop-up speak-easy opened in London last night with a “Cointreauversial” show by burlesque star Dita von Teese.
The boutique cocktail pop-up will stay for three weeks, offering a selection of Cointreau based cocktails, such as the Cointreau Sidecar and the Cointreaupolitan, as well as food by head chef Laurent Michel.
The bar is in the 1940’s chic Pigalle club on Piccadilly Circus,London.
The launch attracted a host of celebrities, ranging from socialites to actors to models (rumour has it Kate Moss was in the house, but we must have missed her, we did, however, see Made in Chelsea’s Ollie Locke).
The bar has generated a significant buzz; tickets for the event sold out for the next two weeks within days of reservations opening.
The pop-up bar is co-designed by both Cointreau and Dita von Teese, and includes some of von Teese’s own objects. As well as two general areas, there are numerous private salons, each individually designed.
The venue will be open to the public as of today (30 November), although tickets are required. www.cointreauprive.co.uk
