Chambord Rendezvous Winners 2011

This year’s winners of the second annual Chambord Rendezvous competition have been announced.

The competition invites bartenders and chefs from the UK to submit their Chambord creations to be judged. Winners received a Chambord trophy and will be whisked away to Paris and Loire Valley, home of Chambord in early October.

The event itself was held at One Mayfair (left) and featured comedian Russell Kane presenting the awards, and DJ Edith Bowman providing the music.

Judges on this year’s panel included Chambord senior brand manager Charlotte Ashburner; bar consultant Michal Butt; founder of CLASS Magazine Simon Difford; drinks expert and director of mixology website Intoxicology.co.uk Andy Pearson and Bacardi Brown-Forman’s head of product training and mixology Alex Turner.

Charlotte Ashburner, Chambord senior brand manager said: “I was delighted with not only the staggering volume of almost three hundred cocktail recipes entered but also the incredibly high standard of each and every one of them. Likewise, the culinary entries were of an equally high quality making all categories a joy to judge.

“The real difficulty for our judges, was selecting just one winner per category but it was a process everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed and we are all very happy with the results.

“Celebrating their creations at the Chambord Rendezvous was the perfect way for us to say thank you to them for their efforts and the entire drinks industry for their continued support of the brand.  We’re already putting the wheels in motion for Chambord Rendezvous 2012, which will be even more spectacular… watch this space!”
