Bols gives 15 minutes of Foam
By SB Staff WriterLiqueur and spirits producer Lucas Bols is claiming a world first with the launch of the “first ever” alcoholic foam in bottle form.
Bols Foam, the Rémy Cointreau-owned company believes, will add “an unusual and exciting element to cocktails, single serve drinks, sparkling wines, coffee and even desserts”, and bring molecular mixology to everyday use.
The Foam holds its form for up to 15 minutes and is available in six flavours, of which three are designed for cocktails and mixed drinks: Bols Banana, Bols Blue and Bols Crème de Cassis. The other variants, aimed at the after-dinner drinking occasion, are Bols Amaretto, Bols Peppermint and Bols Cacao White.
The technically advanced instant foam works by using a patented formula of sucrose and fatty acids which, when it is added to individual Bols liqueurs and used in tandem with a specially designed pump, transforms instantly into foam.
Each 200ml Bols Foam bottle is sufficient to create two litres of foam, which the company says is enough for 50 long drinks or at least 25 Martini-style cocktails. Alcohol content is nominal at 0.03-0.06% of a unit in each drinks serve.
“Lucas Bols is the first and only company in the world to introduce instant foam from the bottle, and we are excited to see how it is received in the bartending community and amongst consumers,” said Rob Rademaker, Bols Bartending Academy global ambassador and head trainer.
“The launch of Bols Foam makes molecular mixology accessible to all and brings true innovation to drinks presentation, producing new taste sensations for the consumer and enhancing the creative potential of Bols Liqueurs” Rademaker added.
