60 for the 60th IBA anniversary
By Marinel FitzSimonsThe International Bartenders Association (IBA) set to its celebrate 60th anniversary with almost an equal number of member countries for each year of the association’s existence.
The current total is 59 member countries, the two most recent to join being Ecuador and China, with John Alexander Barreno Escobar and Frank Lee as respective presidents.
This year’s congress will take place in the Hilton Warsaw, Poland, 5 to 9 November.
There is a host of other countries who are showing a strong interest in the IBA, and participated at the previous congress in 2009 as observers, and are likely to join in the near future. These include Korea, Mexico and Monaco.
Other countries who have been approached by the association include Moldavia, Nicaragua, Colombia, Guatemala, Chile and the Dominican Republic.
It promises to be quite the event!
