Andre Cavalheiro wins Greenall’s Great British Cocktail Contest

Andre Cavalheiro from The Mandeville Hotel’s deVigne bar has been named the winner of Greenall Gin’s Great British Cocktail Contest.

His wining concoction, called The Great Ruby Green, united a blend of woody and spicy notes, complimenting the botanicals in Greenalls.

The cocktails were judged on seven different criteria, and required the contestants to make a short drink that was easily transformed into a long drink for summer. Panellists included Joanne Moore, Greenall’s master gin distiller, and Sarah Mitchell, Graphic Bar manager.

Andre, originally forPortugal, has always had a flair for cocktails (no pun intended!) and made his first cocktail list at the age of 19. He then moved toLondonand has gone from strength to strength.

“The cocktail industry is exciting in theUKand the deVigne bar is the place to be. Together with the bar team, we are able to create a whole new cocktail-drinking experience for our guests”, explains Cavalheiro.
