Looking to boost premium rum category

The laudable goal for rum producer Santa Teresa is to boost the premium rum category around the world. To this end, since 2003 Santa Teresa’s aged rums now boast the seal that certifies their origin and quality: the Controlled Denomination of Origin Ron de Venezuela.

The family-owned-and-run business sells the ultra-premium Santa Teresa 1796 in the UK – it is the only rum that is totally aged using the ancient Solera method – along with Selecto, the extra aged rum Anejo – the flagship of Ron de Venezuela – and Claro, which is the favourite among mixologists and bartenders. The portfolio also boasts two rum-based liquors, Rhum Orange liqueur and rum and coffee Araku. All have been recognised and awarded by the top international competitions with gold medals aplenty.
