Mast-Jägermeister names new CEO

Mast-Jägermeister has appointed Michael Volke as the group’s new CEO and revealed several changes to its executive and supervisory boards.

Michael Volke has been appointed CEO of Mast Jägermeister, effective 1 October 2016

Volke, who has been an executive board member since 2008, will take up the post from 1 October 2016.

Furthermore, Paolo Dell’Antonio, executive board spokesman, will leave the company at the end of September 2016 of his own accord to “seek new professional challenges”.

Meanwhile, Florian Rehm will step into the role of chairman of the supervisory board from 1 October 2016. He is currently deputy chairman of the supervisory board.

“We greatly regret Mr Dell’Antonio’s decision,” said Berndt-Michael Winter, chairman of the supervisory board of Mast-Jägermeister SE. “He has delivered some outstanding achievements for the company, but we nonetheless understand the decision he took some time ago now to explore new avenues after 18 successful years.

“We would like to thank him for agreeing to remain with our company until the end of September in order to complete the integration of the acquired sales company in the USA, the biggest project yet in the company’s history.

“We wish him all the best for the future.”

As CEO, Volke will be tasked with the global development and positioning of the Jägermeister brand and also oversee the North American market.

Volke said: “I am looking forward to working as part of a team with my executive board colleagues to continue writing Jägermeister’s global success story.

“The brand has incredible development potential and we will work together to continue to exploit it.”

Jägermeister unveiled a new “modern” bottle design earlier this month – the brand’s “most significant” change since its recipe was made more than 80 years ago.
