Skyy Vodka expands Infusions line with two new flavours

Gruppo Campari has introduced two new “true-to-fruit” flavours to Skyy Vodka’s Infusions portfolio – Honeycrisp Apple and Tropical Mango.

Honeycrisp Apple and Tropical Mango are the newest additions to Skyy Vodka’s Infusions portfolio

Inspired by the many apple variants topping flavoured spirits charts in the US, Skyy Vodka selected the honeycrisp variety to create a flavoured vodka with a “crisp and balanced sweet-tart flavour”.

The second release, Tropical Mango, has “sweet, ripe, tropical fruit aromas and distinctive mango taste” with a “long, smooth finish”.

Developed to cater to the consumer trend toward “natural infused” products, the Infusions line also features Citrus, Coastal Cranberry, Texas Grapefruit, Pacific Blueberry, Georgia Peach, Vanilla Bean, Moscato Grape, Wild Strawberry, Pineapple, Blood Orange, Dragon Fruit, Cherry and Raspberry flavours.

“Flavoured vodka made a serious comeback in 2015, thanks to increased sales of ‘true-to-fruit’ flavours,” said Richard Black, vice president of marketing, white spirits and cordials, Campari America.

“In fact, if you were to cut out the confectionary category altogether, you could see flavoured vodka reach double-digit growth once again. It is clear that consumers and bartenders alike are looking for more authentic, fresh fruit flavours in their cocktails.”

To support the launch and Skyy’s on-premise focus in 2016, the brand launched ‘The Skyy Book’, comprising cocktail recipes and bar tips and exploring key industry figures and notable places in the US.

Skyy Vodka is also supporting the new Infusions launch with a 360-degree marketing campaign that includes a national print, digital, and out-of home advertising campaign, and a revamped website.

Skyy Infusions Honeycrisp Apple and Tropical Mango are bottled at 35% abv, and will be made available this spring in 50ml (US$1.99), 750mL (US$13.99), 1L (US$16.99) and 1.75L (US$19.99) sizes.

The most recent addition to Skyy Vodka’s portfolio was a “seasonally-inspired” cranberry flavour which launched in November 2015.
