The brand plans to expand following the Supreme Court marriage equality decision.
“With the Supreme Court decision in marriage equality we have won a battle, but the fight for full equality in LGBTQI communities continues,” said Equality Vodka co-founder Bert Gallagher Jr.
“While we should celebrate this landmark achievement and honour those who played a role in its success, there is a lot more work to do.”
With plans to expand into additional markets in Texas and California, Equality Vodka will be able to provide more resources in support of LGBTQI causes – the first of which to receive donated proceeds was Lambda Legal, the first legal organisation in the US dedicated to achieving full equality for LGBTQI people.
Co-founder Doug Jacobson said: “We are humbled by the early success of our vodka brand, and look forward to being represented in cities throughout the US and beyond.”
Equality Vodka is encouraging supporters to ask their local bars, pubs and off-trade retail establishments to stock the brand.
Earlier this year, Absolut Vodka launched a limited edition bottle design featuring the colours of the original gay pride flag exclusively with UK retailer Harvey Nichols.
