Glenmorangie redesigns extra-aged whisky range
By Amy HopkinsGlenmorangie has revealed a packaging makeover for its extra-matured range of whiskies, including Lasanta, Quinta Ruban, and Nectar D’Or.
Scotch whisky brand Glenmorangie has give its extra-matured collection a packaging makeoverAll bottlings are 12-years-old and have spent 10 years maturing in ex-Bourbon casks before undergoing an extra maturation period of two years in a variety of casks.
Glenmorangie Lasanta, which is extra matured in Sherry casks, has been given a packaging update with “Andalusian inspired detailing” on its label.
Meanwhile port cask finished Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban has been given a “black satin finish” and features a “Porto styled QR monogram”.
Glenmorangie Nectar D’Or, finished in former Sauternes barriques, features a “soft touch rigid board construct” to communicate the “silkiness of the liquid” with a new gold foil logo and typography reminiscent of Sauternes wine labels.
All expressions have been redesigned by Glenmorangie in collaboration with agency Butterfly Cannon.
“After a total of 12 years maturing in their exquisite casks, these expressions deserve packaging that reflects the beauty of the liquid within,” said Mike Atkinson, marketing manager for Glenmorangie.
“ButterflyCannon ensured that they retained their family appearance whilst also allowing their distinct personalities to shine through.”
Butterfly Cannon also created the bottle design for Glenmorangie’s new travel retail exclusive, Duthac – a no-age-statement whisky has been part-finished in PX casks and charred virgin oak.
