Breaking Bad-inspired Blue Ice Vodka released

Hit TV series Breaking Bad has inspired a limited edition line of Heisenberg Blue Ice Vodka, created in partnership between 21st Century Spirits and Sony.

The three ‘Heisenberg’ bottles, featuring individual quotes from the series

Three special edition bottles featuring popular quotes by the “Heisenberg” alias of the series’ main protagonist, Walter White, will be made available across the US.

Breaking Bad is an American show depicting the story of Walter White – a chemistry teacher with terminal lung cancer, who turns to a life of crime producing and selling crystallised meth to ensure his family is financially stable before he dies.

“The Dude had his White Russians, the Blues Brothers had their Night Train… and now Heisenberg has his very own Blue Ice Vodka,” said Vince Gilligan, executive producer and creator of Breaking Bad.

“I’m counting on our fans to use it in the creation of a great many delicious cocktails. I’m getting thirsty just thinking about it.”

Founded in 2002, Blue Ice Vodka is a potato vodka produced from Idaho Russet Potatoes and water sourced from the largest volcanic aquifer in the US.

“We are extremely proud of this collaboration between one of the finest shows on television and our best in class Blue Ice Vodka,” said Thomas Gibson, president of US group 21st Century Spirits.

“Our desire for the ‘perfect batch’ of vodka mirrors the unyielding commitment to quality exhibited by both the series and the notorious Heisenberg.”

A Breaking Bad-themed pop-up bar is heading to London this summer, inviting guests to come and “cook” their own cocktails.

In 2013, Blue Ice Vodka became the first US spirit brand to feature a “Gluten Free” label on its packaging.
