By Melita KielyA pop-up bar inspired by the hit US TV show Breaking Bad is heading to London this summer, inviting guests to come and “cook” their own cocktails.
Breaking Bad inspired pop-up cocktail bar ABQ will open its doors to the public in JulyABQ will open the doors to its motorhome venue in July for three months, which has been kitted out with gas masks, blue crystals and chemistry flasks.
Breaking Bad is an American show depicting the story of Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston, a secondary school chemistry teacher diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, who turns to a life of crime making and selling crystallised meth to ensure his family is financially stable before he dies.
The new bar is the brainchild of Seb Lyall, founder of Locappy and pop-up venue Annie the Owl, which Lyall claims was “very successful” despite receiving some criticism.
“We are always looking to give our community unique experiences,” commented Lyall. “People of London demand and deserve something a bit more special and that is what we aim to do through our app and the events.
“We got inspired by this famous Netflix series and thought to do something unique on those lines. The RV is now being kitted out and will be able to house 20-22 people at one point.
“Visitors will get a unique experience of ‘cooking’ their own cocktails with the help of expert mixologists.”
Tickets to ABQ start from £30, which includes two cocktails during the two-hour experience and are available on ballot allocation via the ABQ website.
