Fluid Movement founders launch bottled cocktails

The co-founders of Fluid Movement, the consultancy firm behind London’s Purl and Worship Street Whistling Shop, are readying the first shipments of a new bottled cocktails range this week.

Aske Stephenson, founded by Thomas Aske and Tristan Stephenson, has created three ready-to-serve cocktails comprising a Peanut Butter & Jam Old Fashioned, Leather & Walnut Sazerac and The Revery.

The first cases, produced in the centre of London’s Mile End, will be shipped to Speciality Drinks and Master of Malt this week.

“Our goal is simple, to create innovative beverages that change people’s perception of an already bustling market full of products,” said Aske.

“Our focus is on providing a selection of niche alcoholic products available in limited edition only and produced in an open facility in the history laden area of East London.

“Each of our products are hand made form the development phase right through to distribution by one of the company’s directors.

“Every drop of liquid is produced at our Mile End facility before being bottled, wax sealed, labelled and shipped by hand, making our products genuinely hand crafted and small batch produced.”

The Peanut Butter & Jam Old Fashioned is bottled at 36% abv and is made from American whiskey redistilled under pressure with peanut butter and strawberry jam, hand-sealed with raspberry jam-scented wax.

Inspired by the heritage of luxury British fashion brand Belstaff, the Leather & Walnut Sazerac has an abv of 35% and is made by distilling American rye whiskey under pressure with leather and ground walnuts before being sweetened and bittered “to perfection”.

Bottled at 27% abv, the last of the range is The Revery, comprising London Dry Gin with a beeswax washed vermouth, amaro and acid phosphate to give “the perfect summer cooler to cleanse the palate”.

The Peanut Butter & Jam Old Fashioned, Leather & Walnut Sazerac and The Revery will each be available in 500ml bottles at an RRP of £34.99, £34.99 and £29.99 respectively.

Aske Stephenson’s bottled cocktail range won a Master and two Gold medals in the inaugural Pre-Mixed Masters 2014.
