Whistlepig releases rarest rye whiskey to date

Whistlepig Rye has released its rarest expression to date in the form of The Boss Hog; Spirit of Mortimer, named after the brand’s late mascot.

Each bottle of the 100% rye, 13-year-old expression, which carries an abv of between 58.5% to 62%, carries a stopper shaped like Mortimer, the Kune Kune pig, in flight.

Just 50 barrels have been bottled by master distiller Dave Pickerell.

“The taste signature stays in-line with the high standard set by past Whistlepig releases,” Pickerell said.

Whistlepig The Boss Hog: Spirit of Mortimer is now available in select stores across the US at US$189 for 750ml.
