Just 484 bottles of The New Zealand Whisky Collection 25 Year Old, distilled from New Zealand barley at the Dunedin Distillery, have been made available.

Described as having notes of tropical fruits, butterscotch, orange peel and sea spray, the expression has been aged in ex-Bourbon barrels from the Four Roses Distillery.

“We are so grateful for the international support of the world’s whisky community over the last four years, which has given us the confidence to launch our 25 year old,” said Greg Ramsay, CEO of The New Zealand Whisky Company.

“We are already humbled by the pre-orders and glowing feedback of those who have taken their first sips.”

Said to have spurred the revival of New Zealand’s whisky industry, The New Zealand Whisky Company sources liquid from the Dunedin Distillery, once owned by Seagram’s.

In July this year, plans for a new whisky distillery, museum and perfumery were been given the go-ahead in New Zealand’s South Island.
