‘World’s first’ super-premium spiced rum launches

UK boutique drinks distributor Maverick has launched what it claims is the world’s first super-premium spiced rum, Rumbullion! XO.

The 15-year-old version of Professor Cornelius Ampleforth’s original Rumbullion! is a blend of Caribbean rum flavoured with cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, Madagascan vanilla and orange.

“This new XO 15 year old edition includes all of the award-winning flavour of the original, but with an added dimension of complexity and depth thanks to the incredibly old rum in the recipe,” a statement from Maverick Drinks read.

Described as “one of the most cockle-warming spiced rums on the market”, Professor Cornelius Ampleforth’s Rumbullion! was awarded silver in The Spirits Business’ Rum Masters 2014.

The brand’s new XO expression is bottled at 46.2% abv and carries an RRP of £59.95.
