Wemyss malts has released a collection of five single cask single malt Scotch whiskies

Each cask is a “celebration” of the characterisitcs and appeal of three Scotch whisky regions these being, Islay, Highlands and Lowlands.

“We are delighted to bring yet another selection of excellent single casks to the market,” said William Wemyss, founder and managing director at Wemyss Malts.

“It’s become increasingly difficult to source high quality single casks to continue to refresh our list with exciting new whiskies, so we are thrilled to present these releases.”

Named by the Wemyss tasting panel under the guidance of whisky expert Charlie Maclean, the full cask list includes:

  • Apple Basket – 1977 single cask from CLynelish, Highlands
  • Lead on Macduff – 2002 single cask from Macduff, Highlands
  • The Bosun’s Dram – 1977 single cask from Bunnahabhain, Islay
  • Peat Smoked Herring – 2001 single cask from Bowmore, Islay
  • Lemon Zet – 1998 single cask from Auchentoshan, Lowlands

Bottled at 46% abv, only a few hundred bottles of each expression are available in selected retailers in the UK, EU and Asian markets at an RRP of between £65 and £75 per 700ml bottle.

Wemyss Malts also recently announced its expansion of its premium blended Scotch portfolio with the release of no age statement, Lord Elcho.
