Walsh Whiskey’s The Irishman Irish whiskey will now be available in ScandinaviaDescribed as a “major coup” for Walsh Whiskey, the deal will give the group a presence in the Swedish, Norwegian, Danish and Scandinavian travel retail markets from this month. Finland is expected to follow in 2015.
Bernard Walsh, CEO of Walsh Whiskey Distillery, added the decision to have its whole brand portfolio distributed by just one group in neighbouring countries was “strategically very important”, allowing the group to build a “co-ordinated approach and more cost effective distribution network.

“I’m confident that our Scandinavian consumers will appreciate very much the great taste and superior quality we can offer them from our Irish partners.”
Interbrands Nordic currently distributes brands such as Patron Tequila and Russian Standard in the region.
In October last year Walsh Whiskey unveiled plans to build a new €25 million Irish whiskey distillery, in partnership with Italian drinks company Illva Saronno, owner of Disaronno.
