Speyburn Distillery to receive £4m expansion

A £4m upgrade to Speyburn Distillery’s facilities will reduce the building’s environmental impact by 20%The expansion of the distillery, which produces Speyburn Highland single malt Scotch, will increase its capacity from 1.8 million litres of alcohol annually, to over 4 million.
With the brand’s volume growth forecast at 15% for the 2013/14 financial year, Speyburn Distillery is preparing for incremental growth in years to come as demand soars “in both established and emerging markets”.
As well as providing additional whisky production capacity, the expansion will significantly reduce the distillery’s energy consumption by 20%.

“Having the infrastructure in place to produce our high quality whiskies in greater quantities will be key to the future success of our brands, so we are delighted to see the first phase of this major programme of work get underway at Speyburn Distillery.”
International Beverage also produces the Balblair, anCnoc and Old Pulteney single malt brands, as well as the Hankey Bannister, Catto’s, MacArthur’s blended whiskies.
