Cutty Sark Prohibition whisky commemorates repeal

Edrington has launched a special Cutty Sark Prohibition blend to commemorate the 80^th anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition next week.

Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition is a 50% abv blend containing whiskies sourced from The Macallan, Glenrothes and Highland Park that’s described as “an old-school, authentic Scotch, slightly peppery on the nose and smooth in the mouth”.

Created as a tribute to Captain William McCoy, who smuggled the brand into the US during Prohibition, Cutty Sark Prohibition Edition is launching now in the US, with several other European markets due to take the product in early 2014.

The expression is available in one litre, 750ml, 700ml and 50ml sizes, with an RRP of US$29 for a 750ml bottle.
