The Dalmore welcomes 25 Year Old edition

Whyte and Mackay has announced the addition of a 25-year-old expression to its Dalmore Principle Collection of Scotch whiskies.

The Dalmore 25 Year Old will join the Scotch brand’s Principle Collection

The Dalmore 25 Year Old will join the Dalmore 12, 15 and 18 Year Olds, the Cigar Malt Reserve and the King Alexander III in the limited edition collection.

Matured in American white oak barrels and finished in sweet Palomino sherry butts and Bourbon casks, the new edition is described as combining “festive aromas” of fig, marzipan, vanilla and citrus.

The whiskies are then married in Bourbon barrels before being transferred into Tawny Port pipes from Portugal.

“The Dalmore 25 is matured in casks that have previously housed a very special grape which creates a sweeter style of sherry,” said Dalmore master distiller Richard Paterson. “As a result, the cask has gifted a wonderful a palate of orange peel, chocolate truffles and spiced gingerbread.

“The Dalmore 25 is a truly spectacular addition to The Dalmore Principal Collection, and a must have for fans of the distillery.”

Only 3,000 bottles of the Dalmore 25 Year Old will be available across the globe at an RRP of £600. The bottling will be officially unveiled this week at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

Earlier this year, Whyte & Mackay created what it claimed to be the world’s most expensive collection of Scotch whiskies – The Dalmore Paterson Collection which can be purchased for £987,500.

The Spirits Business also recently featured the Dalmore 62 Year Old – costing £125,000 – in our list of the world’s most expensive spirits.
