Ivanabitch releases “world’s first” tobacco vodka

Florida based International Spirits is set to introduce the “world’s first” tobacco flavoured vodka to the US market under the Ivanabitch brand, in both original and menthol varieties.

The two new flavours are being targeted at the 45 million smokers in the US – as well as non-smokers – as the Dutch vodka seeks to “find a niche in the already crowded flavoured vodka market”.

“Our customers are always looking for the next big thing,” added International Spirits CEO Tony Elward.

Ivanabitch Traditional Tobacco Vodka is described as tasting of smoky vanilla and sweet caramel, while the Ivanabitch Menthol Tobacco Vodka also contains a hint of mint. The varieties are expected to become popular with bartenders seeking new ways to add smoky notes to cocktails.

Both expressions will be released across the US this autumn at an RRP of US$12.99 for a 750ml bottle. They will join Ivanabitch’s existing range of naturally-flavoured vodkas, which are distilled five times and filtered through “active” charcoal.

The range is currently distributed across 27 US states.
