RumFest 2013 features new ‘Connoisseurs Cove’
By Chloe WareTickets have gone on sale for the UK’s seventh annual RumFest, which will this year feature a new “Connoisseur’s Cove” area.
RumFest 2013 will feature the new Connoisseurs CoveHeld at London’s ExCel exhibition arena on 12-13 October, the new area, accessible to visitors holding a premium ticket at an escalated cost of £45, is designed to take the rum connoisseur “on an extensive rum discovery” and will feature some of the rarest and premium rums from around the world.
Set away from the busy festival crowds, the Connoisseur’s Cove will also give visitors the opportunity to meet brand ambassadors and discover the history and production methods of rum in a more relaxed environment.
For general admission ticket holders, features this year include a host of rum bars, rum brands, Tropical food stalls, seminar rooms and presentations held in the main stage area.
The Boutique RumFest, which was introduced for the first time last year, will also return for a second year.
Ian Burrell, global rum ambassador and founder of The Rum Experience said RumFest is designed to bring together rum enthusiasts, bartenders, brands, buyers and distributors from all over the world. “Our ambitions are to propel the rum category even further within the industry and to educate those who are eager to learn and discover,” he said.
