Kilbeggan reveals new bottle in major US marketing push
By Becky PaskinBeam Inc is presenting Kilbeggan Irish whiskey as a beloved Irish product in a series of new comedy videos that form part of a major new US marketing campaign.
Kilbeggan has refreshed its bottle design ready to attack the US marketLaunched on St. Patrick’s Day (17 March), the Kilbeggan campaign features a number of Kilbeggan residents demonstrating their concern over the distribution of the whiskey in the States.
The disturbed residents are afraid the new supply route will disrupt the amount of Kilbeggan available in Ireland, forcing some to stock up on bottles, or obsessively knit to cope.
Beam Inc is portraying Kilbeggan as “Ireland’s best kept secret” as it rolls the product out across America.
“Irish Whiskey is quickly becoming the popular spirit of choice for many Americans, so now is the perfect time for us to let our secret out,” said Bob Gorman, director of marketing for world whiskeys at Beam Inc. “With our new campaign and packaging, Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey is now primed to contribute to the continued growth of the category.”
Coinciding with the campaign launch is a new bottle design, which takes its green and copper design cues from the 180-year-old pot still used to make the whiskey.
