Threadless artists design next Absolut bottle

Absolut Vodka has joined forces with online design community Threadless to host a challenge to design the next limited edition bottle in its city-inspired series.

In addition to having their design printed on the new bottle, the winning artist will also receive $10,000 and the chance to attend the Absolut Chicago launch party.

“Absolut has a long history of collaborations dating back to Andy Warhol and Herb Ritts, and this latest creative partnership invites the next generation of Absolut Vodka consumers to put their stamp on the brand by creating the design that will appear on the bottle,” said Maxime Kouchnir, vice president of vodkas at brand owner Pernod Ricard.

Absolut’s previous city-inspired editions include New Orleans, Boston, Los Angeles, Brooklyn, San Francisco and Miami.

The competition opened on 7 February, giving artists aged 25 and older three weeks to submit their designs to Threadless. The public will be able to vote for their favourites until 7 March when the finalists will be chosen.

The winning design will be judged by a panel of Absolut and Threadless executives and announced some time in autumn.
