Christian Porta moves on from Chivas Brothers

Christian Porta, CEO of Pernod Ricard’s Chivas Brothers arm, has been promoted within the company to CEO of Pernod Ricard Europe.

Christian Porta will leave Chivas Brothers for Pernod Ricard Europe in July

Porta, who has headed the company’s whisky and gin portfolio for almost 10 years, will now report directly to Alexandre Ricard, deputy CEO and COO of Pernod and be based in Paris.

Filling his position will be Laurent Lacassagne, current CEO of Pernod Ricard Europe. The pair will perform a job swap with Lacassagne moving to London.

Prior to his role at Pernod Ricard Europe, Lacassagne was CEO of Pernod Ricard Pacific.

The changes will come into effect from 1 July 2013.
