Mark Hix and The Singleton test ultimate whisky tasting environment
By Becky PaskinThe Singleton has collaborated with British visionaries, including chef Mark Hix, to attempt to create the world’s best room for whisky tasting.
Mark Hix, chef/owner of Tramshed, will create the ultimate dish to pair with whiskyThe Dufftown single malt has considered the genre of music, style of glass and even the type of chair sat in to create its experimental tasting room, which will pop up in Fitzrovia, west London on 27-28 September.
Hix, whose recently-opened Tram Shed restaurant has met widespread acclaim, will create ‘the perfect dish’ to serve with The Singleton of Dufftown, evoking the flavours of Scotland where he fishes every summer.
DJ Giles Peterson will create the perfect playlist of music to sup a dram to; designer Dominic Wilcox has chosen the best glass to drink whisky from; designer Max Lamb has picked out the perfect seating and interior designer Daniel Poole will bring all elements together.
The Singleton Taste Room is a free event running for two days from 6pm-9pm at 33 Portland Place.
