Chicago-headquartered distributor Reyes has officially taken over RNDC’s operations in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Maryland, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia and Washington DC.

The transaction in Hawaii is still pending, subject to regulatory approvals.

In a statement, Marc Sachs, RNDC’s president and chief executive officer (CEO), said: “Today marks an important milestone for everyone involved, and we are grateful for the partnership and collaboration that helped bring the transaction to completion.

“We also appreciate the dedication and professionalism demonstrated by our associates across all of our markets. Throughout this process, our focus has been on creating opportunities for our associates and supplier partners while supporting a thoughtful and orderly transition across these markets.”

This transaction represents a significant expansion for Reyes, already the largest beer distributor in the US, into wine and spirits.

RNDC offloads assets across the US

This announcement is the latest in a string of moves that RNDC has undertaken to reduce its US presence over the last 12 months.

The firm initially confirmed it was in talks to sell operations in seven US markets to Reyes in January 2026, shortly after its disruptive exit from California the previous summer.

The scope of the transaction was expanded in March to include a further five states and exclude Illinois, which had been included in earlier negotiations.

RNDC also agreed to sell its operations in all 17 US control states to Martignetti Companies in April. The transaction remains open, pending regulatory approval.

In May, RNDC announced plans to lay off more than 400 workers across the Pacific Northwest as it sought to finalise the sale of distribution in Oregon and Washington to Columbia Distributing.
