Duppy Share Rum launches in Denmark
By Miona MadsenCaribbean rum brand The Duppy Share has debuted in Denmark through a partnership with beverage distribution platform Bemakers.

The London-based B Corp-certified rum brand is inspired by the legend of Caribbean duppies, which are mischievous spirits. The brand claims duppies swoop between distilleries and steal rum from barrels, which is elsewhere known as the ‘angel’s share’.
The Duppy Share sources its rum from two distilleries: Worthy Park in Jamaica and Foursquare in Barbados.
The brand’s portfolio includes Duppy Share Aged, a blend of three-year-old Jamaican rum and five-year-old rum from Barbados; a pineapple-forward spiced rum; and a 100% Jamaican white rum, developed in collaboration with London-born rapper, songwriter, and actor Kane ‘Kano’ Robinson.
With the support of Copenhagen-based platform Bemakers, the brand is now available in Denmark.
Jack Orr-Ewing, the rum brand’s CEO and founder, said: “We’re excited to start this partnership with Bemakers in Denmark. For many years, Duppy Share have been exporting via traditional distribution partnerships.
“Bemakers offers an innovative business model that allows brands to be more targeted and aggressive when launching a new market, and have real control over their proposition and price strategy. Together, we have the ambition of creating an alternative to scaling brands outside of home markets.”
By joining the Bemakers platform, The Duppy Share gains access to a comprehensive launch infrastructure in Denmark. This includes support with legal compliance, logistics, tax handling, and direct access to both on-trade and off-trade channels, all while maintaining control over its branding and profit margins.
Morten Stengaard, CEO and co-founder of Bemakers, added: “The Duppy Share represents the kind of brand we built Bemakers for: bold, world-class, and ready to grow on their own terms.
“Jack and his team understand that scaling internationally doesn’t have to mean giving up control, and we’re excited to support them in launching into Denmark with full ownership of how they show up in the market. We believe the future belongs to brands that want to stay connected to their markets and consumers, and The Duppy Share is leading by example.”
Earlier this month, Bemakers was approved by the UK’s Department for Business and Trade (DBT) as a provider of services and launched its platform in Spain, making its portfolio available to more than 47 million consumers.
For April Fool’s this year, The Duppy Share teased the audience with its “boldest release yet”: bottled Caribbean air with 100% vibes.
