SB Advent: Secret Garden Winter Gin
By Georgie CollinsFor the second instalment in our SB Advent series, we’re gin-gling all the way to The Secret Garden Distillery for a seasonal spirit as crisp as the first fall of snow.

On the outskirts of Edinburgh lies a three-hectare garden that is the heart and home of The Secret Garden Distillery, one of Scotland’s few entirely female-owned gin distilleries.
Here, the gins are made using four core Scottish botanicals: juniper, angelica, coriander, and winter savoury, which represent all four parts of a plant. It is these four botanicals that form the base of the brand’s Gold medal-winning Winter Gin expression, alongside the additions of freshly distilled cinnamon, ginger, and cardamom.
Formerly known as its best-selling Christmas gin, the brand took the opportunity to re-craft the spirit with the introduction of its new bespoke bottles this year.
The gin offers rich, spicy notes, with a warm depth of flavour, all of which captures the true essence of the holiday season, and makes the perfect foundation for a Christmas cocktail. Don’t mind if we do!
