Abelour goes non-chill in the US

Abelour will launch its 12 year old non-chill filtered expression in the US following its successful launch in France earlier this year.

The non-chill filtration process aims to add to the body and texture to the spirit, without losing any of the distinctive Abelour flavours which it derives from its double maturation in Sherry butts and bourbon casks.

The spirit is presented in rough paper with a wax seal to create an artisanal feel.

The whisky, with an ABV of 48% yields “warm notes of fruit and spice”. After a period of growth since 1995, Abelour is now rated the seventh most popular whisky in the world.

Michael McLaren, associate brand manager for Scotch at Pernod Ricard USA, commented: “Aberlour is a Speyside whisky with a growing word-of-mouth following here in the US. The whisky’s double cask matured style reveals the depth and complexity of the whisky. Previous expressions and in particular, A’bunadhÔ have been extremely well-received by whisky aficionados and enthusiasts alike. Aberlour 12 Year Old Non Chill Filtered takes its inspiration from these successes.”
