Fielden unveils second Fieldnotes whisky
English whisky producer Fielden has launched Hazybower, the second edition of its four-part Fieldnotes Collection.

The collection celebrates the wild herbs and flowers that grow naturally among the grains in England’s biodiverse fields. A different element of the field ecosystem inspires each chapter.
The Hazybower follows the limited series’ debut last year with the release of Hedgerow rye whisky.
Limited to 1,000 individually numbered bottles at 46.3% ABV, the new edition is said to capture the fresh, floral spirit of the English countryside. It celebrates flora such as clover, poppies, thistles, and mayweed.
Chico Rosa, whiskymaker at Fielden, said: “While conventional agriculture often suppresses diversity, we aim to champion it here at Fielden. These plants aren’t just beautiful – they contribute to healthy soils, resilient crops and complex, layered flavour. With Hazybower, we are bringing that diversity into your glass via the flavour and texture of this spirit.”
Hazybower is crafted from a blend of heritage rye, wheat, and barley, grown as diverse field mixtures, including historical methods of cultivating rye and wheat together. The grains are distilled using both pot and column stills.
The expression is primarily matured in reused American oak casks that were previously used for Fielden’s signature rye whisky. Additionally, a portion of the whisky is fully matured in an old Hungarian oak Tokaji sweet wine cask, which is said to enhance its floral and citrus notes, adding layers of honey and spice.
Rosa continued: “The result is a whisky that evokes hazy summer days in the English countryside – freshly cut herbs, meadow flowers and lemon tart in the evening sun. Balanced by our signature spice of rye and a mellow freshness, we hope that Hazybower is both a sensory journey and a statement of our regenerative farming values worth sipping.”
Fielden Hazybower is available from 6 August on the brand’s website and from Berry Bros & Rudd, with a recommended retail price of £102.50 (US$139).
