Tailored Spirits unveils first whisky trio
By Miona MadsenEdinburgh-based independent bottler Tailored Spirits Co has launched its first whisky collection called The Experimental Series.

Tailored Spirits Co, which specialises in privately owned whisky casks, was launched in January 2024 by three industry professionals: Adam Harding, Tom Costello and Carl Johnstone.
The company’s inaugural releases aim to ‘redefine tradition’.
Harding said: “We are beyond delighted to release our first-ever whisky range. This release is about redefining tradition and honouring heritage while championing curiosity, exploration and innovation. Since launching Tailored Spirits Co in 2024, we’ve been overwhelmed by the response from the whisky industry. It is such a warm and welcoming environment, and we are so excited to release our first spirits into the whisky world.”
The Experimental Series debuts with three limited edition ‘micro-batch’ whiskies presented in a bottle shape inspired by a science lab. The label design is inspired by travel luggage labels and features a removable tab containing a four-letter code for collectors.
Costello commented on the design: “We love making whiskies look as attractive and eye-catching as possible. The Experimental Series was a dream to design. It showcases the beauty of experimentation, something that’s not bound by tradition, a true exploration of flavour and design. For me, the fact they can never be replicated made our first release really special.”
Experiment One, titled Axis, is a seven-year-old Croftengea single malt from Loch Lomond Distillery, limited to only 52 bottles. It retails for £59.50 (US$74).

The second edition is a Fettercairn 13-year-old limited to 84 bottles, retailing at £74.50 (US$93) and given the name Buck.
Lastly, an eight-year-old Ardmore, nicknamed Claw, is limited to only 60 bottles and costs £64.50 (US$80).
Johnstone added: “As a business, our story is one of continued growth and development. We are aware of a growing demand in a rapidly changing industry. This allows us to work closely with private clients all over the world.
“Our business started with a dram, and that’s exactly where our clients’ dreams and passions begin. Our role is to make the journey as smooth and enjoyable as possible.”
The company was recognised at the Scottish Edge national entrepreneurial competition, which awarded it £100,000 (US$124,300) in funding.
